The National Association of Realtors said on Monday that it would not renew its free banner campaign.
It said it had previously worked with ad exchanges and other marketing agencies on a pilot program that had been effective.
The association said it was concerned about the use of free banners in marketing.
Ad exchange companies were not immediately available for comment.
The Association of National Advertisers also said on Sunday it was not renewing its banner campaign, a move that came after a similar announcement by the National Advertising Group.
The National Advertising Association, a trade group representing more than 4,500 advertisers, said on Saturday it would cease its banner advertising program, saying it was no longer profitable.
Ad exchange companies are often charged for the placement of banners and advertising on their websites.
Some companies have also started selling ad space to banner ad exchange sites.
