The new world of paid traffic is about to get a lot more lucrative for the internet giants that dominate it.
The news comes after the US Federal Communications Commission voted 4-3 last week to end a three-year ban on paid search advertising, which was implemented in January.
The ruling was based on a US Supreme Court decision that struck down the 2010 Obama-era policy.
Google has already offered paid search to some of the world’s largest companies, including the American Airlines Group, Barclays Group and Verizon, but only in a limited way.
The company said the new rule will mean that its adverts will no longer appear in Google’s search results.
The US Department of Justice said in a statement on Monday that it will take enforcement action against the “unlawful conduct” of the companies.
It said Google’s adverts should be considered a “special class of advertising that Google has made available for use in Google search”, which includes “Google’s search algorithm, its search results and other Google products”.
Google has also said it will not make paid search available to advertisers unless they opt out of using it.
It said it does not allow advertisers to opt out, but said the US Government’s interpretation of its policies is “unfair”.
“As a result, Google will no long be able to claim that it is not giving advertisers the right to opt-out of these advertising opportunities, even though they are not,” the company said in the statement.
“Google will continue to enforce the US government’s interpretation, and will continue working with its partners to ensure this does not happen again.”
The announcement comes as Google is planning to launch an online platform for advertisers to display paid search ads in the US and other countries, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal.
The platform will offer ads that will appear when users search for products or services, including products and services for the Apple iPhone and Google Chrome browser.
It will also allow users to search for specific keywords.
Google’s new search platform is part of the company’s wider push to build a platform that can take advantage of more advanced technologies.
Google is also set to launch a platform for mobile search, according the WSJ.
The search company has also announced it will open up a suite of tools that allow users, like search users, to find content on other websites.
